Cross Party Groups

Claudia Beamish MSPCross Party Groups provide a forum for MSPs from across the political parties to meet regularly with interested organisations, groups and individuals to discuss specific issues.

At present there are 87 different CPGs covering a broad range of topics.  Although the groups themselves do not have any formal decision making powers, they will often raise issues with the Scottish Government and other relevant bodies.  They are therefore useful in helping to put issues on the agenda which otherwise might not be discussed.

CPGs meet on different schedules but will typically hold between 6 and 12 meetings per year.  Members of the public are free to join CPGs and contact details for each group are available on the Scottish Parliament website.
